It’s been a while since the latest state of CF post so it’s time to give a few more updates.
In the past weeks we’ve mostly worked on the game design and prototyping.
We still have several weeks left so I can’t go into too much details yet about what we’ve come up with.
In this update I’ll mostly give some explanations in preparation before we start sharing our ideas.
The reason for this is to make sure everyone is on the same page when we discuss the ideas for the new game so that we can focus on that instead of having all discussions why we change the game.
So, first of all I have to say that the new version of the game is not going to be like CF2 or CF3.
For some this might not come as a surprise but some people were still hoping for this or even expecting this.
There are many reasons why we can’t just simply make a clone of CF2 or CF3 in better technology.
Because people often don’t understand why we can’t make a CF2 clone I’ll go in some depth about this.
So, for many players CF2 is a perfect game and they really love it.
It might also seem like CF2 was very successful because it had/has a lot of players and everything looked healthy and great it just wasn’t successful enough.
CF3 was even less successful which is why we stopped development of CF3 and had to make the radical decision to design and make a new version.
The main reason CF2 and CF3 weren’t successful is because we can’t sustain the company from it.
Since we’re a free to play game and don’t wanna spam people with ads we must find a better way to get more players or more sources of income from the game.
We simply won’t be able to do that if we remake CF2 or CF3 so we have to change things around in the game.
It might sound very negative but we really aim to change the game around in a positive way.
Unfortunately not all players will be happy with this because they really like CF2 and/or CF3 but we have no other choice and have to disappoint players in either way.
Hopefully we’ll be disappointing very little players and that a lot of people will love the new mechanics in the new version but we just wanted to clear this up and give you all a heads up before we start sharing our ideas for the new games in the near future so it doesn’t come as a shock.
I really wanna empathize that change doesn’t have to be bad, we really do our best to design a game as fun, competitive and social as CF2 and CF3 and luckily we have a very experienced game designer that helps us out this time.
It’s a big risk we have to take and we might lose some of you guys but you must understand that it’s either this or nothing.
For Hidden Monster Games we now have a new logo!
We’ve planned about 5 more weeks for the design and prototyping and then we should know how the new game is gonna be shaped like.
We’re taking quite some time to design and prototype the game because we really hope to be able to make a very successful game this time.
We might be able to do a few public tests near the end to get some feedback but I can’t really guarantee it.
I should be able to share some of our ideas near the end for sure to hear the opinion of your guys.
