We call this a DESYNC.
What happened is that something caused the curves to render differently in the game.
This could have hundreds of reasons.
The server you play on is the boss and the server decides if you die or not.
Unlike some other multiplayer games the server doesn’t send snapshots of the game which means that the client has to do exactly the same as the server.
If you move 5 pixels forward on the server you must do exactly the same thing in the client on the exact same time.
Unfortunately there are hundreds of things that can cause these desyncs.
We’ve already fixed a lot of desyncs but we still haven’t been able to completely fix it.
We continue to try and improve the synchronization though to ensure that the client and the server do exactly the same things.
